Doody’ Ashton, ‘Kidder’ Ashton and Thelma McFarlane. In front, Myrtle Aston. The Ashton sisters were the daughters of Frederick Ashton, a son of James Henry Ashton, the founder of the family circus. Thelma McFarlane was a daughter of F.J. McFarlane, formerly manager of Colleano’s All-Star Circus.
