St Leon, Peggy
C. 1950
Peggy stands beside one of the baggage wagons of Wirth Bros Circus. These low-wheeled baggage wagons were American-made, brought to Australia by Bud Atkinson’s American Circus & Wild West Show in 1912. After Atkinson’s enterprise failed, its equipment was put to auction in Melbourne. Wirth’s Circus purchased a number of these wagons and used them for years after.
