Omar Kingsley, had commenced his circus career riding in female attire as ‘Ella Zoyara’. He first visited Australia in 1866-7 as one of the proprietors of Cooke, Zoyara & Wilson’s Great World Circus, which was organised in San Francisco. After its Australian tour of 1875-6, when this photograph was take, Wilson’s Circus proceeded to India where Kingsley died in 1879.
